Find out more about Hull Food Partnership and our members at Gaia – 23rd-24th August

Hull Food Partnership and Hull Fairtrade Partnership are delighted to have been invited to participate in the Gaia Exhibition taking place at Hull Minster on Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th August.

Drawing upon the theme ‘Living with Hope: A Future for the Earth’ with an emphasis on positive actions we can all take as custodians of the planet, Hull Food Partnership’s Chair – Hilary Hamer will be giving a 30 minute talk on the theme of ‘Fair Food For All’ between 11am-12noon on Monday 23rd August.

A number of Hull Food Partnership members will also be present to show you what they’ve been working on over the past year, and there will even be the opportunity to purchase some of their locally produced food and drink.

We really look forward to seeing you there and share our hopes for a fairer future!

Gaia is part of the Freedom Festival and runs from 20th August to 5th September. In order to attend you must book tickets in advance here: www.freedomfestival.co.uk/gaia

Created from 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface, Luke Jerram’s artwork provides the opportunity to see our planet, floating in three dimensions.

The installation aims to create a sense of the Overview Effect, which was first described by author Frank White in 1987. Common features of the experience for astronauts are a feeling of awe for the planet, a profound understanding of the interconnection of all life, and a renewed sense of responsibility for taking care of the environment.

For Freedom Festival, audiences will experience this amazing installation surrounded by trees (thanks to The Woodland Trust) with a bespoke soundscape.
